RELIABILITY, HIGH SPEED AND ACCURACY FROM
PALS LATEST LABELLING SYSTEM
PALS Labelling, the leading European developer and manufacturer of labelling systems and ancillary equipment, has launched the latest version of its technically advanced top and bottom labeller, the PLV. Offering exceptional levels of reliability, speed and accuracy, the PLC controlled PLV has been specially designed to operate on high volume, continuous packaging lines in the food industry and provides sophisticated monitoring facilities to confirm final pack quality and integrity.
All key mechanical machine functions are servo driven and PLC controlled to provide extremely consistent and accurate system operation. In addition, a specially designed web path ensures precise and fast label application, making the PLV especially suitable for use with production lines where long term reliability at high speeds is critical.
The top and bottom labeller incorporates an easy to use colour multi-function touch screen, with full graphics capability, enabling precise monitoring and reporting of machine performance and line output on a real time basis. In addition, the control technology has been developed so that the system can be set up, monitored and maintained quickly and easily by relatively unskilled operators, thereby eliminating the danger of errors while boosting productivity.
The control system provides a wide range of functions including automatic changeover between labels and monitoring of machine sensors, to enable potential problems to be identified and eliminated. The PLC control also allows extra functionality to be added at any time, e.g. pack rejection mechanisms, allowing customer requirements to be continually met without the need to purchase a new system.
Featuring a food quality high speed conveyor mounted on a heavy duty stainless steel base, the latest PLV is modular in design, and can be integrated with all types of coding attachments. The system also features a rigid print platen for optimum print quality.
Simon Stuttard, Director of Sales at PALS Labelling explains, “We have steadily developed the PLV so that the latest version meets and in many cases exceeds the requirements of today's packaging operations. The PLV combines exceptional levels of reliability and accuracy at high speeds with sophisticated real time monitoring technology. This can be integrated both with other in-line equipment and higher level production management systems, enabling PLV units to be used as the final stage in ensuring that pack quality and integrity meet the required standards”.
